Corrections

The Corrections Module from Armstrong Consultants is a simple solution designed to correct mistakes made when entering transactions. With the module installed, authorised users can make changes to posted transactions in all parts of the system. This enables the facility to change transactions dates, references, analysis codes, values, costing details, etc. and so removes the need to enter corrective transactions. Business rules are enforced, so if an invoice is allocated to a payment, values cannot be changed. Likewise, if it has been updated on a VAT return.
The Corrections Module also provides the facility to automatically duplicate transactions that have been posted and also create reversing transactions, i.e. credit notes against invoices.
There is also the facility to change existing coding structures throughout the system. This provides a solution to amending coding structures to change the chart of accounts, alter customer / supplier codes, change stock and project codes. This ensures that full transaction history is also changed as part of this process and data integrity ensured.
Due to the power the Corrections Module presents, security settings are paramount. As default, this is switched off and it is the System Administrator who can decide which users have access to the tool, for which module in the system, and what type of records / transactions they can correct.
A full audit trail of changes is provided which confirms which user made what change, when it was made, the detail of the original data and the change that has been made.
The Corrections Module is easy to apply. It will self install into Dimensions, so can be carried forward within future upgrades of the system.
